Unlike conventional batteries that use silicon cells, The Smart One uses plastic cells that retain full circuitry for faster and more efficient charging. It’s so efficient at storing power that it will continue to charge even if partially covered under ambient light.

Simon Wilby demonstrated the potential of The Smart One at its launch in Barbados in December of 2008 when he took out his own mobile phone which had not been charged conventionally since March.
